Driver in Brooklyn Hit-and-Run Accident Confesses

Thursday, March 11, 2010

According to the New York Daily News, the driver wanted for a Brooklyn hit-and-run that left a heroic mayoral aide in a coma confessed to cops yesterday, March 10, 2010, just hours after leaving a mental hospital. Frances Jasmin was arrested at the 77th Precinct station after she admitted her role in the hit-and-run accident that nearly killed Erinn Phelan.

According to prosecutors, Jasmin was allegedly talking on a cell phone while driving her sister’s Acura at the time of the accident that left Ms. Phelan in a medically induced coma with severe brain injuries. Ms. Phelan saved a friend’s life when she pushed Alma Guerrero out of the path of the vehicle. New York automobile accident lawyers say that these types of tragic accidents have become much too common.
