According to statistics compiled by Elmhurst Hospital Center, one of New York’s public hospitals, the number of people hit by vehicles is on the rise in Queens. In fact, the report shows that pedestrian injuries in some sections of Queens are at their highest levels in almost ten years. Vehicles led all causes of injury at the hospital in 2008 and 2009, reports Elmhurst Hospital Center. Surprising to most experts reviewing the data, including veteran New York personal injury attorney David Perecman, the majority of accident victims were adults ranging from 19 to 64 years in age.
