A car struck a pedestrian on the Long Island Expressway in Elmhurst, Queens on January 26, 2010 at around 1:15 a.m. The crash closed the westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway near Woodhaven Boulevard for around three hours. The victim, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. According to police, a small gray car fled the scene of the accident and the accident is still under investigation.
