An American Airlines flight from Miami with more than 150 passengers on board overshot a runway while landing during a heavy rainstorm in Kingston, Jamaica on December 22, 2009. The crash injured more than 40 people and miraculously, everyone survived. Flight 331 skidded across a road at Norman Manley International Airport and stopped at the edge of the Caribbean Sea. According to the Associated Press, the nose of the jet was less than 10 feet from the water.
Approximately 44 passengers were taken to nearby hospitals with broken bones, cuts, and bruises. Four people were seriously injured. According to an American Airlines spokesman, the plane's fuselage was cracked, its right engine broke off from impact and the left main landing gear collapsed. New York construction accident lawyers think that it was a miracle that everyone survived the crash.
