A new lawsuit filed by the McKenzie family and their New York medical malpractice lawyer accuses Carla Muhlhahn for being grossly negligent and reckless in her handling of a Manhattan woman’s labor and delivery, which resulted in a stillborn child. Ms. Muhlhahn is known as “New York’s most famous nurse-midwife” and said a home birth with her was “safer than a physician or hospital." That was not the case for the McKenzie family. The lawsuit charges if the McKenzie family went to a hospital, doctors would have been able to save the girl, who had been strangled with her umbilical cord.
