Ke Hai Du is suing Paul Todd for driving over his left foot on October 9, 2009, outside of Suteishi, the Japanese restaurant where Mr. Du works as a head sushi chef. According to the New York Daily News article, Mr. Du, with the help of his New York personal injury lawyer, filed a $5 million lawsuit in the New York Supreme Court New York County against Paul Todd charging that Mr. Todd allegedly drove over his foot and then threatened to do it again while Mr. Du was trying to save a parking space for his boss.

According to the suit, Mr. Du saw a car pull away from a parking space in front of the sushi restaurant and went to save the spot for his boss by standing there. Mr. Todd, the defendant tried to park his car in the spot where Mr. Du was standing and hit Mr. Du allegedly. Mr. Du was screaming in pain on the street after he was hit by the car, and Mr. Todd kept provoking Mr. Du, saying that he would “do it again.” As a result of the accident, Mr. Du suffered a broken foot and injuries to his head, back, and knees.
