A construction accident at an upstate New York construction site ruptured a gas line and forced the evacuation of the site, The Buffalo News reports.
The construction accident occurred Wednesday afternoon at a building under renovation at 2555 Lockport-Olcott Road in Newfane, New York. A wall fell on the natural gas line, damaging the main and causing the leak. No one was injured in the construction accident and fire officials responded quickly in shutting off the gas.
No further details are available at this time.
New York construction accident lawyers familiar with construction accidents involving gas lines know just how dangerous they can be. The construction workers and others at the site are fortunate to be alive, let alone uninjured.
The New York City construction accident lawyers at the Perecman Firm hope authorities investigate this construction accident to determine its cause. Even before that investigation is complete, the contractor, Lamparelli Construction, ought to review its safety protocols and make whatever changes it needs to prevent construction accidents like this in the future.
Without some changes, the next accident could be far worse.
